My last post indicated that the fee would be less than for national camp at StoneRidge because we do our own cooking and serving. That was before I found out that Ponca had increased their nightly stay rate. Because of that, the camp fee for the combined national and Arkansas camp at Ponca will be the same, $96.00, as it would have been at StoneRidge. That is composed of $75.00 each to cover Ponca’s nightly stay rate and $21.00 each to cover the cost of 8 meals.
The Arkansas Galilean officers have agreed to host national Galilean camp at Ponca Bible Camp during the time that we had scheduled the summer Arkansas Galilean camp at that location. I have confirmed with Ponca Bible Camp that the extra day needed to have our normal national Galilean camp schedule (one day longer than the normal Arkansas Galilean camp) is available for us so national Galilean camp at Ponca this year will be August 1-4. The national Galilean officers will be in charge while the Arkansas Galilean officers serve as hosts. I will figure an appropriate fee that will be more than the normal fee for the Arkansas camp (one day longer) but less than the normal fee for national camp (Ponca Bible camp for us is strictly self service, i.e. there is no camp staff to serve us). I will go over our national Galilean daily schedule and identify where some adjustments may need to be made and we can each mark up our national Galilean programs with those adjustments at the beginning of camp. Dr. Smith has agreed that we can still have our Saturday evening service at the end of Lost Valley Trail as the Arkansas camp always does which will include a stop to gawk at the elk on the way to the trail.… [ Read More ]
Due to double booking at StoneRidge for this weekend (largely my fault) we will not be able to have national camp there this weekend, June 27-30. This was confirmed this morning, June 25. Dr. Smith has confirmed his availability for the first weekend in August to have a combined national and Arkansas camp at Ponca. More details to follow but I wanted to get this out on the web page before anyone left to travel to camp this weekend at StoneRidge.
